Zac Efron Attacked In LA's Skid Row

After ending up in Los Angeles' notoriously dangerous Skid Row area, Zac Efron was reportedly attacked and punched in the face by a "sketchy transient," according to TMZ's law enforcement sources.

According to the website, the 26-year-old actor and a man he identified as his bodyguard were involved in a full-on brawl with at least three other people on March 23 around midnight. Police reportedly broke up the fight and questioned the former "High School Musical" star, who allegedly told them he was in the area because he had run out of gas and was waiting for a tow truck to arrive.

Efron reportedly told the police that the homeless men confronted him and his bodyguard when they threw a bottle out of the car window and it smashed on the ground near the group. According to the actor, two of the men allegedly attacked his bodyguard, at which point Efron got out of the car to assist him when he was punched by one of the men, and reportedly told police, it was the hardest he had been hit in his life.

There were no arrests, since police viewed it as a "mutual combat," and TMZ's source claimed Efron was "obviously intoxicated" at the time of the incident.

The incident and obvious question of what Efron was doing in that part of town has sparked concern that Efron, who went to rehab twice last year for cocaine addiction, may have relapsed as "L.A's Skid Row district is an area notorious for its’ booming drug trade," according to RadarOnline.
