It's been six years since North Carolina-based Jack the Radio took aim at what members of the group called the "groove-heavy, southern-tinged gap" in the Raleigh music scene.
I had the pleasure of hearing this alt-country Southern rock band play live at Caleb Caudle's "Carolina Ghost" album release show earlier this year at The Garage in Winston-Salem. Now, Jack the Radio has its own release to share.
On Friday, April 1, the indie, roots rockers will celebrate the band's newest music video "Bad Man" at a release party during Raleigh's First Friday events.
There will be hand-screened posters and T-shirts designed by Gorgeous George for purchase and giveaways from Show Class Magazine and beers from Mystery Brewing Company from 5 to 9 p.m. at Devolve Moto. Learn morehere.

Jack the Radio is composed of co-founders George Hage on electric guitar and A.C. Hill on a weathered acoustic, along with drummer Brent Francese and multi-instrumentalist Danny Johnson. The band released its full-length debut, "Pretty Money" in early 2011, their sophomore effort "Lowcountry" with the addition of bassist Chris Sayles in 2012 and, most recently, "Badlands" in October 2015. In 2014, the band worked its way to the upper-tier of Triangle bands, playing some of the area's biggest stages with acts, including Hall & Oates at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre, George Thorogood at Memorial Auditorium and the Cold War Kids at Red Hat Amphitheatre, according to the band website.
