The sixth grader was frustrated that she wasn't reading books about little black girls in school, so she started #1000BlackGirlBooks.

I often look for charitable outlets in Los Angeles where young people can contribute in the act of giving, and through the years I have found and participated in many fun activities that involved the spirit if charity.

Soon we'll be able to read with 3,000 children in need each year. These are exciting times with increasing support and new plans coming into fruition. But growth mode is scary too.
