An uncle of one of the students shot in the possible hate crime said it's “hard to imagine” the young men were not targeted.
The Oct. 15 event featured about 30 students and faculty from Burlington High School, and received praise from parents and LGBTQ advocates.
Students took a controversial stand in response to the recent shootings in Charlotte and Tulsa.
Victims ranged in age from mid-teens to mid-90s, and included a mother and her daughter.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
Four women were killed in the attack, and a man who was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries died overnight.
A manhunt was launched to find the suspect.
Almost 500 opioid addicts are waitlisted to receive medical treatment for their dependence.
