Packed to the brim with old-fashioned melodies, Annie offers great potential for creative choreography, but Andy Blankenbuehler has made some unusual choices for this production.
Little Orphan Annie. For many, this name conjures images from the movie of Aileen Quinn in a red dress and the promise that the sun will come out tomorrow. For me, it brings memories of a stage, a cast and an experience I'll never forget.
I've updated one of "Annie's" melodies, "We'd Like to Thank You Herbert Hoover," to give you a tune to whistle to distract yourself from thoughts of the coming Newpression.
