We're complex beings, and there is always more to learn. Caring is more important than "knowing." Are we interested, receptive, curious? The element of surprise can fuel a sense of newness and add excitement when we're open to it.
Most Americans don't do it enough. It's time we talk about it.
Two hundred days have passed -- 165 remain. The vivid slideshow behind my eyes plays on, even though, looking through the pictures I've taken, I know our tiny world is wreathed in glowing white, patient grey and bloodrust red.
This equation is simple:a few minutes of discipline equals hours of comfort, pleasure, a lengthened lifespan, and less time spent on medical procedures.
So now, instead of futile reluctance to acknowledge that life is racing by or being regretful of the many, many days spent doing routine things I don't remember because they're mundane and not spiritually exalting, I plan things that will lift me up emotionally.
