An armored police bomb disposal vehicle carrying the seized fireworks exploded and rained debris down on scores of homes in south Los Angeles.
The two were fired after an inaccurate rain forecast prompted the postponement of a fireworks display on the country’s most important national holiday.
The incident is being investigated by the Indiana State Police, Mt. Vernon Police Department and the Posey County Coroner.
Though we associate fireworks with the Fourth of July, their arrival in the United States was a long time in the making.
Chief Michel Moore said five members of the bomb squad have been removed from field duties as the investigation continues.
