We, the international community, must speak out for the people left starving by Syria's civil war. All across Syria, civilians are routinely being blocked from receiving the food needed to survive. The world cannot turn its back on these innocent war victims.

Many Syrian war refugees are getting help in the form of a card that looks very much like the debit one you may have. It's called an electronic card, or e-card. The UN World Food Programme, the largest hunger relief organization, distributes these to needy families.

What will end the hunger and suffering in Syria is a peace treaty. That miracle appears far off today. But, until we can find this elusive peace, we cannot forget the plight of the Syrian people.

The Internet is an amazing tool for communication. We see the best example of this in the conflict and disaster zones of the world. For when it matters the most, Internet communication is literally a lifesaver.
