Governors are "on our own" because federal officials have "fallen down" in responding to the coronavirus, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker said.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced the expungements on Tuesday, one day before recreational cannabis became legal in Illinois.
Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker said the new law, which aims to reach the $40,000 salary minimum by 2023-24, will help address the teacher shortage.
The measure is being praised as a "life-saving law” that has placed the state “on the right side of history.”
