Halloween 2014

Is my son straight, gay, bi, trans or a metrosexual in the making? I have no clue, but I do know whatever God (or whatever higher power) has intended him to be, he is incredible.
Claire, as a fellow soccer mom, I'm officially asking for an apology. Your Insane Asylum of Horror, had you let it stand, would truly have been the most frightening house in the neighborhood. But for different reasons than you think.
This will be my first Halloween in Vermont since I went as the Pink Panther in 5th grade. Despite my advanced education and 20 years as a New Yorker, not that much has actually changed, as I still dress in pink on a daily basis.
When the sugar crash hits, whether the kid falls to the sidewalk in a full-on tantrum, or merely falls asleep with his face in a pile of Milk Duds, it's all right. The kids are not evil; the parents are not ineffectual. It's Halloween. Despite how scary things may look, no real harm has been done.
