Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has taken a page from Republicans’ playbook, limiting the power of a prosecutor for being insufficiently punitive.
The former Minneapolis police officer is arguing that jurors were intimidated by the protests that followed and prejudiced by heavy pretrial publicity.
The jury is made up of eight men and four women.
