Congratulations to the Hewitts!
We are a happy family -- thank God for that! But I'm not always snapping pictures, we're not always smiling and you can be darn sure that I'm not sharing our ugly moments on social media. Until now
Jase and Jody Kinsey are probably really tired right about now. Meet Cade, Ian and Milo a set of identical triplets.
The thing about loss is that it's not a dark, brooding presence. Not like in the movies. Not in reality. Loss hibernates.
You will be bombarded with questions. Our triplets just turned 5 and we still get the same questions. "Did you use IVF?" "Can you tell them apart?" "Do they have different personalities?" and always, "How do you do it?"
I remember October 10, 2008, as if it were yesterday. I remember waking up to go to the hospital -- late, because I was up all night. I remember calling the doctor, apologizing. Joking that after months and months of waiting, we were going to miss the scheduled birth of our identical triplets.
Every baby is special, but Karen and Ian Gilbert's children are receiving some much deserved extra attention. Identical triplets
The triplets had a great day -- a day punctuated by some classic kid quotes that make me want to bottle them up and keep them small forever. Here are a few of my faves from the past few days.
People I don't know are whispering about me, pointing and staring. It is September 2008 and I am 34 weeks pregnant with triplets. I refuse to stay home; I will not miss Parents Night at my son's preschool. He is almost 4. And the fate of the three babies inside my belly is unknown.
