Avengers 2: There May Just Be a Pop Epic Somewhere Inside Marvel's 'Disappointing' Age of Ultron Mega-Hit
For what's turned out to be one of the biggest hits of all-time, the not especially felicitously titled Avengers: Age of Ultron has gotten a lot less love and devotion than the numbers would suggest.
The release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier this month on disc and download reminds of what a terrific film it is. With some competition from its delightful Marvel Studios sibling, Guardians of the Galaxy, it's the best pop movie of the year.

Semiotics aside, Pacific Rim delivered what is simply the most awesome sci-fi-slash-action-adventure experience on the screen this year (and a chunk of this decade, actually), and it will likely win an Oscar.
