âMy heart goes out to Jordanâs family, who is suffering great pain and uncertainty about the circumstances of his death,â the former police officer said Wednesday.
âWe expect more from our national leaders to address this issue in a real way,â Mayor Eric Adams said during his visit to El Paso.
The plan authorizes police officers to involuntarily place homeless people in psychiatric care, even if they don't appear to pose a threat to the public.
"We did our job as New Yorkers and now weâre winning," the mayor said on TV station NY1.
