My mom essentially was like, "Stop. Don't struggle with something you can't control. I've known you were this way since you were a little kid. There was no place and time that affected you to become gay. You were born that way. God made you this way."
Perhaps what a lot of Christians mean when they say that Mormons don't count as Christians is that they don't like our version of Christianity. Perhaps what they mean is that they think we make them look bad with our wild and sweeping ideas.
With the gradual acceptance of gay and lesbian couples and the enactment of more and more laws permitting same-sex marriages, are we beginning to see the breakdown of the role of both mothers and fathers in the lives of the family?
