For seven years NBC tried to tell everyone that 30 Rock was a hit. It was not. Critics enjoyed it but no one was rabidly watching it like Modern Family. The Blacklist is the ONLY holdover for new shows from last season and that is only good because James Spader is truly "the man".

Getting out of work early for the blizzard, but already burned through every season of "Orange is the New Black," "Breaking Bad" and "The Wire" three times over? Don't despair; there are plenty of great TV shows produced in Australia, The UK and on PBS and TBS you've likely never seen.

For reference, there are only four major American broadcast networks that air their programming in the English language. So this is quite a decline for an evening of entertainment that was, for years and years, home to the most popular and acclaimed shows on television.

You might be saying, "You can't do a spin-off of Friends! Know why? Because they tried it! It was called Joey and it failed!" If you can do a spin-off of Cheers, All in the Family or Hercules: the Legendary Journeys, you can do a spin-off of anything.

When President Obama appeared in front of hundreds of chomping-at-the-bit Republicans with the cameras rolling on live TV he not only made for Must See TV, he also provided the jolt that voters want to see.
