Ngorongoro Conservation Area

The extraordinary pictures were taken at a Tanzanian conservation park.
When I sat down with my crew to eat a pre-prepared picnic lunch (complete with friend chicken) in Ngorongoro Crater, it wasn't the big mammals who came to join the picnic.
Between two and three million years ago one of the largest mountains in what is now Tanzania collapsed in on itself during a powerful volcanic explosion.
Each day, safari jeeps make the climb up along the rim and descend down into the Ngorongoro Crater to observe this unique collection of Mother Nature's wonders. This is what we found on just one day's safari from The Manor at Ngorongoro.
