Tehran Vows Response After Strike Blamed On Israel Destroyed Iran's Consulate In Syria And Killed 12
A deadly airstrike, widely attributed to Israel, demolished Iran’s consulate building in the Syrian capital and killed 12 people, including two Iranian generals.
The airstrike in Syria killed Gen. Mohammad Reza Zahedi, who led the elite Quds Force in Lebanon and Syria until 2016, according to Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
“This afternoon, at my direction, U.S. military forces struck targets at facilities in Iraq and Syria that the IRGC and affiliated militia use to attack U.S. forces,” Biden said.
