Shirley Sherrod

All of us who care about stopping climate change pollution need to stand together and say no. No, you cannot buy our democracy; no, you cannot pollute our air; and no, you cannot overpower us with money.
Righting an injustice can be a thorny process, as Dr. Boyd, President of the NBFA, can attest. He has fought for years to get justice for black farmers who were victims of widespread, decades-long discrimination by the USDA.
The Shirley Sherrod incident that has played out in prime time this week has had all of the same elements and ingredients as Andrew Breitbart's previous smear against ACORN.
By now it's clear what Breitbart is selling. The real question is why the mainstream media and Democratic politicians bought it. Breitbart is a con artist, but con artists only succeed if consumers don't know they are being conned -- or don't care.
I'm sick and tired of Democrats getting weak knees every time the right-wing media flexes their muscles. The firing of Shirley Sherrod is the latest example.
