Three people were killed after gunfire erupted early Saturday in a suburban Philadelphia township, authorities said.
The shooting came a week after Gov. Kathy Hochul sent the National Guard into the subway system to help police search people for weapons following recent attacks on riders and employees.
Several people were at the party outside a residence when three men with dark masks and clothes got out of a silver car and fired at the group.
The deputy sprayed his patrol vehicle with bullets after incorrectly believing that he had been shot, according to authorities in Florida.
Police Chief Stacey Graves said that the 22 people injured in the shooting ranged between the ages of 8 and 47 years old, half of whom were under the age of 16.
“We had security in any number of places, eyes on top of buildings and beyond,” Mayor Quinton Lucas said. “And there is still a risk to people.”
The parents were scheduled for an on-set interview with CNN to discuss their gun reform work just as news broke about the Kansas City shooting.
"Please join me in prayer for all the victims in this heinous act," wrote one player following the incident in Missouri.
Three individuals have been taken into custody. At least nine children were being treated for gunshot wounds, according to a local hospital.
Genesse Moreno, 36, was fatally shot and her 7-year-old son critically wounded after she fired an AR-15 rifle inside the Houston church on Sunday, police said.
