More than 1 million people were warned to leave in the Carolinas, and a round of evacuations was ordered in coast Virginia as the storm drew closer.
Multiple people have died as a result of Florence, which is battering the Carolinas.
“I cannot overstate it: Floodwaters are rising, and if you aren’t watching for them you are risking your life,” North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper said.
