We can wake ourselves up by increasing our oxygen level by breathing deeply. Or conversely, we can put ourselves to sleep with a kind of meditation of shallow breathing, and repeating silently the words to the rhythmic "in" and "out" like a mantra.

A couple of years ago I took the opportunity of photographing my Opa's funeral and the wake afterwards and would like to share with you some of the photographs I took, to show you why photography can be a healer.

There is a traditional saying that the mind takes its shape from whatever it rests upon. For better or worse. Instead of resting it upon planning, worrying, or stressing about your day, how about taking a little time to receive and embrace something more positive?
Here was someone speaking about her life-and-death battle, while her concern rested on the happiness of the guests at her impending wake. At her "celebration" there were no speeches and no tears, only quality one-on-one time.
