On opening night at Oracle Arena, Oakland, California, 10/25/16, San Antonio Spurs vs. Golden State Warriors (spoiler alert, the Warriors lost); Craig Sager, sideline reporter was honored by the NBA, TNT, Nike, and the Warriors. Here are 10 things I learned about #SagerStrong:

1. Sager has been fighting leukemia for three years.

2. He has had three bone marrow transplants.

3. SagerStrong is his foundation.

4. He received the Jimmy Valvano Award at the 2016 ESPYs.

5. Staff on opening night were wearing T-shirts, pictured above, and inspired by the colorful suit jackets he wears.

6. The T-shirts are for sale and the proceeds benefit cancer research and education.

7. Fans attending the game received T-shirts with Sager’s likeness on the front and #SagerStrong on the back.

8. Sager did not cover the game but is out of the hospital after an 85 day stint.

9. There is an auction to benefit the foundation of limited edition SagerStrong NIKE Air Force 1 shoes which closes 11/4/16.

10. “Time is simply how you live your life” an excerpt from Sager’s speech at the ESPYs and also the quote on the T-shirts.

Peace, love, compassion, and blessings.
