If this doesn't look like magic, we don't know what does.

Those who work or live near Sydney's CBD may have noticed the city was looking a little brighter than usual on Wednesday night, as Vivid Festival organisers performed a test run of several displays ahead of Friday's official opening.

Running from 27 May - 18 June, the world's largest festival of light, music and ideas is set to transform the city into a nighttime wonderland for kids and adults alike.

Though the light festival will no doubt get the most airtime (and dominate your social media channels), don't forget about Vivid Ideas or the fantastic line up of music events available as well.

But for now, let's check out a sneak peek of what Vivid Festival 2016 has in store.
