With the Calgary Comic Expo currently underway, there's no lack of star power in Alberta's biggest city right now.

Big name stars like Sigourney Weaver, Bill Paxton, Paul Reiser and Danny Glover will meet and greet fans over the weekend as part of the entertainment event.

But, for years now, Alberta has been pumping out steady streams of beauty, talent and grace.

Many of these celebrities are household names, but many of them wouldn't be recognized as Albertan — or even Canadian — south of the border.

Some of these stars were simply born in Alberta before moving elsewhere, like Michael J. Fox, while many, like Jarome Iginla, spent much of their life living here.

Click through the gallery below for a full collection of the most talented, beautiful and surprising celebrities from Alberta.
