American Swimmer Ryan Lochte Gets 'Light Blue' Hair Just In Time For Rio Summer Olympics

Making a splash before the games even begin.

Ryan Lochte and his hair are ready for Rio.

The "swimming freakazoid and 11-time Olympic medalist," as described by GQ in their latest article, first caught our attention as not only the hottie of the 2012 London Olympics, but the star of his very own television show on E! called "What Would Ryan Lochte Do?" It lasted only five weeks. Its cancellation devastated us all. No more weekly Ryan, his washboard abs and that famous phrase.

But alas, Lochte is back. And in a big way. After teasing a photo of himself getting his hair bleached on Sunday afternoon on Instagram, the 31-year-old American shared his new "light blue" 'do with the world, just in time for Rio.

"New look.... Here We Go," he captioned the photo that has over 39,000 likes.

While many fans got excited about the silver hair, others compared Lochte to the following:

Now, like Cosmo points out, Ryan better not get too attached to this hair colour, because all that chlorine in the pool is going to make it very hard to maintain. Which is a total shame, but maybe a colourist is on hand for Team U.S.A?

Anyway, if you thought this was Lochte's first big style moment at an Olympic games, think again. He basically stole the show at the London Olympics with his custom-made American flag grill (read: grillz).

Yes, this image is very real.

But if you're hoping to see the grill on the podium in Rio, don't get your hopes up. In an interview with GQ, Ryan said he's not sure if he'll pack them in his suitcase.

"Oh, man, I don't know. But that is my trademark, those grills. So I might definitely have to get a new pair of grills. But other than that, during the Olympics we're so structured about what to wear so we look like a team. But outside of that you might see some fashionable clothing I might be wearing."

Well, if that is the case, we'll be keeping an eye on you and your wardrobe Mr. Lochte.
