Remember the little girl from “Titanic”?

You’ll likely remember her as the one Jack Dawson called his “best girl” during the famous lower-deck dance scene.

Cora Cartmell was played by Alexandrea Owens-Sarno when she was just eight years old. Now, nearly 20 years since the movie’s release, Owens-Sarno is all grown up.

Now 27, Owens-Sarno is living in Los Angeles and pursuing an acting career.

After “Titanic,” the former child star became so overwhelmed by fame that she decided to leave the acting business until she was older.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, the actress explained: “I was auditioning for movies, but it was a really hard time for me. People were recognizing me on the street all the time; it was really overwhelming and difficult. And people would ask for my autograph, but when you're eight, nine years old, it's just like, ‘Ugh, who are you? I shouldn't talk to strangers!’”

Owen-Sarno’s Instagram account reveals that her child star fame still hasn’t gone away. The actress constantly receives requests for autographed pictures.

On her Instagram, Owens-Sarno also shared an essay she wrote documenting the filming process of “Titanic.” One of the highlights reads: “All of a sudden I heard my mom scream, ‘They put you in the movie.’ I was so excited I felt like flying. It was a miracle. I was so happy.”

In her caption, the 27-year-old inspired her fans by writing: “Sometimes we have hard times, and a lot of the time we may have doubts, but the little kid in us chose the path we were supposed to take. We owe it to the child in us to follow our dreams no matter what. No one can ever tell you you can't, especially yourself."
