Can Anybody Stop Jillian and Emmett on the Home Stretch of Big Brother Canada?

To this point, the story of Big Brother Canada has been the story of Jillian and Emmett cutting through the competition like a hot knife through slop. A great deal of credit needs to be given to this Big Brother power couple for such a dominant game. At the same time, a slap on the wrists ought to be doled out to players like Andrew for ignoring the words of Dan Gheesling, treating him like some sort of Big Brother gift horse.

At the final four it would seem as though Emmett and Jillian completely have this game in the bag. However, they've got on last hurdle to get past before they can rest safely in their season long home in the HoH bed. The final four week in the Big Brother house can be especially tricky. It's a week in which the veto holder actually has more power than the HoH (If you remember Dan Gheesling's last final four from this past summer, you know exactly how important the final veto can be).

When we last left our houseguests, they were in the middle of an HoH competition with Gary having a slight lead. Whoever wins the challenge will advance to the final three and choose the two players for nomination. However, it is the veto holder that will ultimately decide the fate of the other players in the game. The veto holder will automatically be safe but in addition, the veto holder will cast the one deciding vote between the two players on the block. Unless Emmett and Jillian can win the HoH AND the veto this week, this could be the week that they are split up.

If either Jillian or Emmett is the next player to go, I believe a lot of that blame should be placed on the decision this week to keep Talla over Andrew. I believe there was a classic reality TV overthink happening in regards to Andrew as a threat. Yes, Andrew has one two HoH competitions (though one was handed to him by Alec), but he's not likely to beat Emmett and Jillian to advance to the final two. If he did, he's likely taking Emmett to final two and losing to him in a blowout. Andrew was 100-per-cent loyal to the "east coast" alliance and would have certainly voted out Talla at the final four. As much as the players speculated they may have an alliance, there wasn't any deal making happening between Andrew and Talla.

On the other hand, Gary is very open to working with Talla and could form an acutal pair with Talla. By choosing to eliminate Andrew instead of Talla, Jillian and Emmett have turned what could have been a 3-1 advantage into a potential 2-2 split in the house this week.

If Gary or Talla can win HoH their best move would be to put Jillian and Emmett on the block. If Jillian wins HoH, she will certainly put Gary and Talla up on the block. Meanwhile, if Talla or Gary can win Veto, they'll be able to take themselves off the block and choose to eliminate Emmett, thus removing the biggest threat from the game.

If this scenario unfolds this week with Emmett leaving the game at final four, as crazy as this sounds, I believe that Gary is in the best position to win the game. I don't think Jillian can win against anybody. Jillian broke too many promises and in a game like Big Brother, where you become so intimate with your competition, those emotional wounds are just too much to overcome. While Gary was already evicted once, he was a fierce competitor all season, which is more than Talla will be able to say for herself. Plus, Gary has more friends on the jury like Topaz who will be campaigning hard for people to vote for him.

Jillian and Emmett seemingly had this game wrapped up for weeks. That is until a player came back from eviction and an all-time great Big Brother contestant coached the players on the bottom and told them to start thinking. There has been so much insanity on this first ever season of Big Brother, it would be illogical to think that the best players would make it to the end of the game. In a season full of twists, the only logical conclusion to this game would be Gary walking away with the prize after being evicted a month ago.

Do you think Gary can pull it off? Let me know what you think in the comments and on twitter!
