Eva Mendes could be setting herself up as a makeup guru.

The actress who starred in films such as "Hitch" and "Training Day" is joining cosmetics giant Estee Lauder to promote its "New Dimension" skincare products, she announced on her Instagram Friday.

Mendes said the ability to change herself is one factor that drew her to acting, in a Q and A with the company.

"I've always loved how I could transform myself by just highlighting a certain area and playing down another area," she said.

"It's probably what was attractive to me about becoming an actress — the art of transformation."

When we last heard about Mendes, she was named creative director for Circa, a company that sells products such as mascara, blush and lipstick.

We also saw her on the front cover of the April 2015 issue of Women's Health, five months after she gave birth to daughter Esmerelda with boyfriend Ryan Gosling.

But Mendes also recently ignited a small controversy when she said that sweatpants are the "number one cause of divorce in America" (they're not).

Mendes later said she was just kidding.
