This is not the first time Rempel's face has been connected to the disturbing literature.
Last year, the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR) released graphic postcards in the ridings of politicians who, they said, "failed pre-born children."
“Our experience has been that when people see the images they change their minds on abortion,” Stephanie Gray, an anti-abortion campaigner with the CCBR said at the time.
“So the question is will there be people who no longer want to support Stephen Harper as long as he refuses to protect pre-born children? Our experience has been when people see the pictures, yes, there will be people that refuse to support him.”
According to the Calgary Herald, the CCBR was also behind this most recent round of postcards.
However, the city's top lawyer told Calgary city council there is little they can do to stop anti-abortion groups from sending out solicitations that feature graphic content.
However, Glenda Cole told council she would have her legal team look at potential options — like mandating the cards be placed in envelopes — to prevent the images from getting in the hands of children.
