Heinz Baby Food Recall Expands, Now Includes Sweet Potato And Beef Medley After Seal Concerns

Heinz Canada Baby Food Recall Expands Due To Seal Concerns
|

Heinz Canada is expanding its baby food recall to include a second product, citing concerns over possible food spoilage due to broken seals.

The 213-millilitre glass jars of Sweet Potato and Beef Medley infant food with expiration dates of Aug. 4, 2017 have been pulled from the marketplace, according to a news release from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. This product, which also carries the UPC code 0 579050 2, should not be eaten and the CFIA recommends it be returned to where it was purchased.

If the food has already been eaten, parents are warned to monitor their children for symptoms ranging from vomiting to diarrhea.

This marks the second recall for the company in less than two weeks, as its chicken and broth baby food was flagged over similar health and safety problems on Apr. 15.

Both CTV News and the CBC report no illnesses have yet been connected to the ingestion of either food items.
