Justin Bieber Scales Great Wall Of China On Bodyguards' Shoulders Because He Thinks He's An Emperor

Justin Bieber Apparently Thinks He's The Emperor Of China
|

While fans of Justin Bieber might deem him to be the eighth wonder of the world, the pop star's visit this week to the Great Wall of China was not without some inanity on the singer's part.

The Toronto Star reports Bieber was visiting the Great Wall on Monday (Sept. 30) but used his bodyguards as a quasi-throne by sitting on their shoulders en route to the top of the ancient barrier.

Although no photos were posted on Bieber's Twitter site of the visit, fan account @BelieveTUpdates tweeted a handful of pictures showing the singer on the shoulders of two bodyguards as they lead him up the steps. Another photo shows Bieber with his hands in the air celebrating the fact he made it to the top of the Great Wall all by himself except for two bodyguards carrying him up.

There's no word as to what portion of the Great Wall Bieber visited but seeing as he spent the day in Beijing it's most likely he went to Badaling, the closest portion of the massive wall located approximately 80 kilometers northwest of Beijing. And although it's probably changed in the 15 years since this writer visited the Badaling portion, the stairs can be uneven and tricky but are not exactly impossible to climb.

Never say never, Biebs!

Bieber made no mention of making it to the Great Wall of China but tweeted he would "have to let u know something big before I head to china."

Bieber performed in Beijing on Sept. 29 as part of his Believe world tour. The Chinese leg continues in Dalian tomorrow night (Oct. 2) before concluding in Shanghai on Saturday (Oct. 5).

Celebrity Diva Moments
Diana Ross(01 of09)

Do NOT ask this Supreme diva to wait! Diana Ross arrived at a Beverly Hills restaurant in January 2013 to have lunch with her daughter but was asked to wait to be seated because she'd arrived first. Ross kindly marched to a corner booth, sat down and requested to be served. The manager told her, per the restaurant's seating policies, that she'd have to wait until her daughter arrived to be seated. Of course, this didn't sit will with the singer, who caused a scene and stormed out of the building. (credit:AP)
Christian Bale(02 of09)

Christian Bale is not exactly a bastion of patience, as evidenced by his infamous 2009 rant on the set of “Terminator Salvation.” When a director of photography accidentally walked onto the set and ruined a scene he was shooting, the actor went absolutely ballistic for almost four minutes straight. Bale spewed expletive-laden vitriol at the DP, accusing him of ruining the scene, calling him “amateur” and saying, “I will kick your ass.” Lucky for us, the entire thing was captured on audio for our continued listening pleasure. What? Rihanna causing a scene? Never! It’s unimaginable – except for the fact that it’s probably easier to imagine a day that Rihanna doesn’t cause a scene. So, given her hard-partying ways, it comes as no surprise that the 24-year-old singer found herself being escorted out of a London nightclub in September 2012 after she jumped on a table and shattered the glass. According to The Sun, she was hauled away in front of hundreds of onlookers after screaming our absolute favorite diva-fit phrase: “Don’t you know who I am?” Apparently they did know who she was, because Rihanna’s friends stood up for her and she was reportedly allowed to stay at the club. She even received free drinks from the manager! Guess it does pay off to have people know who you are. (credit:PA)
Nicki Minaj(04 of09)

Not only did Nicki Minaj commit a cardinal sin of steak-eating, but she also donned her oversized diva crown recently when she had someone bring in a bottle of A1 Steak Sauce while dining at a Hollywood restaurant. TMZ was on hand to probe Minaj on her way out, of course, and the singer said she always uses A1. Thank goodness she didn't have to be deprived! (credit:AP)
Christina Aguilera(05 of09)

Christina Aguilera? Diva? NO! The “Genie in a Bottle” princess turned “Voice” judge reportedly demands she be allowed to watch playbacks of every scene she’s in on the singing competition series. If she thinks she looks fat, she requests a reshoot. (credit:AP)
Snoop Dogg(06 of09)

Snoop Dogg was working hard to live up to his gangster reputation in April 2006 when he was banned from British Airways for causing a brawl with police in Heathrow Airport. Snoop’s inebriated entourage planted themselves in a VIP lounge and was asked to leave. Naturally, they weren’t in the mood to be accommodating. A brawl broke out, and the group reportedly smashed display cabinets and injured seven police officers, including breaking one’s hand. No one asks Snoop to leave! (credit:AP)
Michael Jackson(07 of09)

It’s hard to isolate one single diva-esque moment in Michael Jackson’s career, but we’d say forcing people to adopt an honorific moniker when refereeing to him probably takes the cake. That’s how the nickname “King of Pop” came about. A “highly placed source” told Entertainment Weekly in 2009 that MTV VJs were required to refer to Jackson by the royal title in order to be allowed to play his “Black and White” video. Talk about having a leg up on your own PR. It's too bad the self-proclaimed King of Pop fell a long, long way from his throne. (credit:AP)
Naomi Campbell(08 of09)

Naomi Campbell, you are certifiably crazy. The supermodel has committed one violent act after the next against her own staff members. It started in 1998, when she hit her personal assistant with a phone. Since then, she’s allegedly slapped a housekeeper in her lavish New York apartment, held an assistant hostage in a Los Angeles hotel and assaulted two police officers at London’s Heathrow Airport. Campbell claims her actions aren’t just typical diva behavior, saying they stem from “abandonment issues” and her former cocaine addiction. (credit:Getty Images)
André Leon Talley(09 of09)

We all get a little hissy if someone accidentally spills a drink on us at a social function, but André Leon Talley does not hesitate to make his ire known. In September 2008, the Vogue magazine contributing editor was waiting for Stephen Burrow’s fashion show to start when a man splashed him with Champagne, according to the New York Post. “Look what you’ve done!” he shouted at the offender. “I’ve got to wear these clothes all day!” When the man attempted to help clean him off, Talley responded by saying, “Get your hands off me!” (credit:Getty Images)
