Plus-Size Model Tess Munster Proves Size 22 Ladies Can Slay Swimwear

Model Proves Plus-Size Women Can Rock Swimwear
|

Slay!

Plus-size model Tess Munster is the new face of the Sea by Monif C swimwear campaign, proving that women of all shapes and sizes can rock bathing suits and look gorgeous doing so. (#effyourbeautystandards!)

Munster, who also goes by Tess Holliday, is the first size 22 woman to be hired by a major modeling agency and the first model over a size 18 hired to model for Sea by Monif C.

Sea by Monif C founder Monif Clarke told Yahoo! she hired Munster because her customers were clamouring for the retailer to feature more diversity in their ads.

"We've always featured size 14 plus models," Clarke said, "but, we thought, 'How do we make this more compelling for our customer?' The feedback we were getting was, 'We love that you show women in size 14 and 18 but what about the 22s and 24s?'"

The swimwear campaign shows Tess rocking a snakeskin print bikini a hot pink one-piece with fringe and a sexy black two-piece with cutouts.

"When I'm buying a swimsuit the thing that is most important to me is how I feel in it, if I feel good," Munster said. "It's great to buy something that may look cute but I want to buy something that makes me feel sexy and I want to feel confident when I'm going out and I want people to stare so you know I want good support, I want fun prints."

The model also stars in Torrid's new ad campaign, which shows her rocking out in fun flirty separates for spring.

"I'm a firm believer that everyone should dress how they want to dress," she told People.com, "and rock what they want to rock."
