'Scream Queens' Fashion: The Premiere's Best Outfits

From feathers to faux fur to metallics to hats to whatever it is Lea Michele’s character is into, "Scream Queens" eclipsed all other shows ever with its update of "Mean Girls"-esque clothing and penchant for accessories.

On this, the first day of autumn, we celebrate two things: 1) That somewhere, Lenny Kravitz is wearing his scarf, and 2) the premiere of "Scream Queens" last night.

Naturally, it was everything we expected to be: violent, gory, weird, funny, arguably quite offensive and straight-up addictive. Frankly, if "American Horror Story: Coven" made sweet love to "Glee" and then banished singing from their home, this is what "Scream Queens" would be best described as. Only also better dressed. Because arguably one of the biggest stars of the series isn’t a person, it’s the costume department -- and last night did not disappoint.

From feathers to faux fur to metallics to hats to whatever it is Lea Michele’s character is into, "Scream Queens" eclipsed all other shows ever with its update of "Mean Girls"-esque clothing and penchant for accessories. And because it was probably overwhelming to pay attention to the clothing and to whoever-it-is who’s behind the Devil’s mask (just kidding: we all paid attention to things equally and this is totally an excuse for me to post gifs/talk about clothes), we’ve rounded up the best outfits so we could re-live the magic now.

8. The Murder Of Ms. Bean: An Aesthetic Tapestry(02 of06)

Upon witnessing the murder of Ms. Bean by the sociopathic Chanel (even though it was totally, like, an accident), the girls react accordingly. But lest we forget how their personalities are reflected through each outfit: Chanel #5 continues to mimic Chanel #1, Taylor Swift superfan arguably shakes it off (get it?), Grace carries investigate journalist vibes via her newsboy hat and seventies influence, while Zayday’s pieces are as bold as she is. (After all: she’s the only one who threatens to hit Chanel #1 and refuses to drink her dirty hand water. See? Team Zayday, people.) (credit:Tumblr)

But truly, she’s better off: never trust a man who clearly doesn’t appreciate the wearing of feathers and '70s-style blouses to school. (credit:Tumblr)
11. Uncovering Secrets: Neckbrace (Lea Michele) Edition(04 of06)

In which Grace continues channeling undercover journos, Zayday brings prints and leather to the table, and Neckbrace evokes the majesty of 1995. You know: the year the mysterious baby was born, never to be seen again. (credit:Tumblr)

Although her oversize ring (which is the colour of blood -- surprise, surprise) overshadows everything else. (credit:Tumblr)
17. Those Feather Dresses™(06 of06)

Granted, only Chanel #1 is in feathers. The others? They stick to the fabrics they know: Chanel #2 is in faux fur (again), Chanel #5 is in pink (duh), and Chanel #3 is making choices that confuse and impress us all. The real question of the hour? What will Chanel #4 bring to the table? And more importantly, is Chanel #4 just the Devil? (credit:Tumblr)
