Of the top five Canadian New Year's resolutions, living a healthier lifestyle is in the number one spot, according to Global News.

Have you been sticking to your resolutions? If not, that's okay — every day is another opportunity to start making healthier decisions.

In fact, most Canadians don't follow through on their first try.

Three out of 10 Canadians have resolutions every year, but of that number 73 per cent eventually end up breaking them, according to an Ipsos poll.

Ingredients: 1 cup red lentils 1 cup spinach or kale 1 large onion - chopped 2 stocks celery - chopped 2 medium carrots - diced2 cloves garlic - finely cut 2 tbsp cooking oil 1 tbsp cumin1 tbsp turmeric 1 tsp cayenne 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar 6 cups of vegetable broth salt and pepper to taste Instructions: Step one: In a large soup pot heat oil over medium heat. Add chicken and salt and cook until golden brown. Remove chicken.Step two: Heat 1 tbsp of oil on low. Add onion; cook until tender. Add garlic and ginger and cook for additional 2 minutes. Step three: Add coconut milk and spices and bring to a boil. Add broccoli then let simmer and reduce for 3 minutes.
