Want to apply for "Storage Wars Canada"? The Canuck version of the series is on the hunt for bidders, appraisers and storage hunters with stand-out personalities.

A&E's "Storage Wars" may have started out as a show with big scores and hidden treasures, but its continued success is largely thanks to its cast of colourful characters -- from no-nonsense Dave Hester (who placed bids with a loud "Yuuup!") to outlandish Barry Weiss (who's been known to bring everything from psychics to night-vision goggles to auctions).

Think you've got what it takes to be an auction top dog? Send a resume, photo, and brief description of yourself to storagetv@propertelevision.com or fill out an online application form.

"Storage Wars Canada" is set to start shooting in May in Ontario.

"The Bachelor Canada" had an intensely Canadian bachelor: Toronto Argonauts player Brad Smith. The first season was a success, but can it catch up to the long-running American series, which has 17 seasons? (credit:CityTV)

Canada tried to join the successful “Got Talent” franchise (the British version has 6 seasons, the American version has 7) but fizzled out after one season. Between the first and last episodes, the show lost a million viewers. (credit:CityTV)

"American Idol" is still chugging along with 12 seasons so far, but "Canadian Idol" disintegrated after six seasons and only produced one real star: “Call Me Maybe” songstress Carly Rae Jepsen. OK, maybe two, if you count Jacob Hoggard of "Hedley" fame. (credit:AP)
"Project Runway Canada" (2007 - 2009)(06 of15)

Even with Iman’s star power, "Project Runway Canada" had a measly 23 episodes in two seasons, compared to the American version’s 11 seasons and over a hundred episodes. (credit:Alamy)

"America’s Next Top Model" has been running since 2003, but the Canadian version only lasted three seasons. Rumour has it there's another season coming down the pipe, but we'll have to wait to find out. (credit:Getty Images)

Somehow the U.S. contains enough dancers to fuel 9+ seasons of "SYTYCD," but Canada’s version -- hosted by former VJ Leah Miller, pictured here -- lasted only four seasons. (credit:Getty Images)

"BBCan" was a hit from the moment it debuted in February 2013, increasing Slice’s audience by 57 percent. The American version has aired 14 seasons, so there's no doubt about its potential longevity. (credit:Shaw Media)

Originally a U.K. show, it was followed by an American version, and then a Canadian version. Gotta love these Canuck brides battling it out! And they're nowhere near "nice," as the stereotype goes. (credit:Shaw Media)

It turns out that Canadians are just as good at hurting themselves as Americans, Russians and other nationalities around the world do on their own versions of "Wipeout." Too bad ours wasn't renewed for a second season. We'll miss the big red balls. (credit:TVtropolis)
