A five-year-old living with cancer will see a big wish granted when she meets with Taylor Swift as the pop singer performs in Edmonton on Tuesday.
Swift superfan Ava Hadfield learned that she had a brain tumour in December 2012, Sherwood Park News reported.
So far, she has gone through 46 rounds of chemotherapy, 31 rounds of radiation and three brain surgeries, her mother Mandy Hadfield told the newspaper.
But the tumour has not stopped growing, and Ava has been told she could only have three to six months left, she said.
UPDATE: Aug. 6 -- A family member told The Huffington Post Canada that Ava Hadfield has not been given a prognosis for her cancer yet.
So her family has created a list of things she wants to do. One of them is to meet Swift, "one of her huge idols," her mother said.
A Twitter account, "Ava's Army," devoted itself to seeing her meet the hit-maker behind songs such as "Bad Blood" and "Love Story."
In mid-July, reps for Swift confirmed that Ava would meet the singer backstage, said CBC News.
"We've realized that Ava's time here with us could be limited," Mandy told the network. "And we just want to fulfill as many dreams for her as we're able to."
Ava will travel with her aunt to Rexall Place in a limousine and receive backstage passes before meeting Swift this afternoon, CBC News added.
And Ava's Army looks like they're as excited as she is.
This isn't the first time that Swift has done good deeds for her fans.
