Vancouver House Could Be Yours For $1.. But There's A Catch

Although real estate in Vancouver has a reputation of being expensive, one house in town is being sold for only $1. But there is a catch: the buyer must move the house off the lot at their own expense.

The Dunbar area lot that the house sits on now is being redeveloped, according to a Craigslist ad that was posted early Tuesday. The new owner must organize removal and transportation for the house to a new location.

The 1,820 sq.-ft. home has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The seller admits the "older interiors" need "some TLC to be brought back to spectacular."

This isn't the first time a home has been listed for $1 in B.C.

Back in January, two heritage homes near Boston Bar were on sale for $1 each. In that case, the buyers were on the hook for an estimated $100,000 in repairs. That same month, a former boys' school in Vernon went on the market with the same price tag — along with approximately $300,000 worth of work.

In February, a house in Duncan was marketed for a loonie, with the new owner responsible for up to $30,000 in moving costs.
