Woman's Hair Transformation After Her Chemotherapy Is Beautiful

Woman's Hair Transformation After Chemo Is Beautiful
|

Here at HuffPost Canada Style we talk a lot about hair whether it be on Rihanna's ever-changing locks, Miley's gorgeous pixie or Jennifer Lawrence's short 'do.

So when we come across a non-celeb who goes through incredible hair transformation out of extraordinary circumstances, we get excited.

Enter: Reddit user TXSockMonkey, a breast cancer survivor who took photos of her hair regrowth after completing chemotherapy in April 2013 and posted the results on Wednesday.

The photo, titled "8 months hair regrowth after chemo for breast cancer. Pics are from June to February. Only two more years to go to get it back to where it was!" shows nine pics of her radically different hairstyles.

Luckily for us, TXSockMonkey, who was diagnosed with cancer in Jan. 2013, had a fun time playing around with her shorter 'do.

From a JLaw-worthy blond pixie cut and a platinum hued bouffant to sexy brunette side bangs and cute layers, the 38-year-old is a great role model for those who have also undergone chemo and are missing their longer locks.

"My friends called me Gollum for ages," the cancer-free stunner said about her formerly bald head, referring to the nearly-bald character in "The Lord of the Rings."

While she waits for her hair to grow back in, we can all applaud her bravery and, of course, her fabulous knack for styling her short 'do.

At the age of 33, Mailet was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Despite the support she had from her family and friends, she wanted to meet someone her age who could really understand what she was going through so she built IHadCancer.com, an online peer-to-peer cancer community. She really enjoyed working with Erena to provide this opportunity to other IHadCancer members and found the whole experience to be very cathartic. Lindsey, Breast Cancer Survivor (Oregon)(07 of14)

After discovering a tumor during a regular breast exam, Lindsey was diagnosed at age 35 with stage 2, HER2 positive breast cancer in her left breast. Her extensive treatment included reconstruction, which left her feeling a bit uncomfortable in her new body. At the time of the session, she was still getting used to her new additions and felt a little strange but when the time came, she let the water calm her instead of overpower her with fear and self-doubt. Lori, Cervical Cancer (Washington)(09 of14)

Lori was diagnosed with Endocervical Adenocarcinoma in 2007 at age 34. She had two surgeries to remove her cervix and pelvic lymph system and afterwards found it difficult to return to a normal rhythm.
