The Andhra Pradesh government has come up with a plan to solve the problem of growing unemployment in the state.
The state government has decided to give a monthly allowance of around Rs 2,000 per person till they find a job, reports Indian Express.
This was a part of the 2014 election manifesto of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The party had promised to ensure at least one job for each family in the state and a financial assistance of Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 to unemployed youth.
The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet sub-committee has planned to launch the scheme with an initial budget of Rs 500 crore. However, the date hasn't been fixed yet.
Kollu Ravindra, Minister for Youth and Unemployment Benefits, said that they are still collecting data. He said that there are about 12 lakh unemployed people in the state.
Ravindra said that the committee is going to come up with a plan for Andhra Pradesh by analysing how states like West Bengal and Tamil Nadu are giving benefits to unemployed youths.
