And don't even talk about Ranveer Singh.

Earlier today, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati trailer was unveiled online.

With Bhansali, who is known to weave magic with his visuals, one expects nothing but a stunning canvass, and with Padmavati, it seems that he has trumped all of his past work.

Padmavati's trailer is moody and atmospheric with an appropriate background score that adds to the tension instead of overwhelming the proceedings.

His three actors: Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor appear in top form, with Singh's Khilji (who looks a bit like Khal Drogo), looking much more menacing and mad than one initially imagined. To nobody's surprise, Padukone looks dreamy, gorgeous, and completely in command of her titular role.

Bhansali's past work has proven that he has the unique ability to mount films on a stupendous scale without muddling the narrative. Padmavati seems like an extension of the same body of work, but with a lot more ambition.

Produced by Viacom and Bhansali, film opens in cinemas on December 1.
