Hillary Clinton pourrait devenir un jour présidente des Etats-Unis, mais il en aurait fallu plus pour impressionner le contractuel britannique qui lui a infligé une amende de 80 livres (130 dollars) pour infraction au stationnement lors d'un récent passage à Londres.

L'ancienne secrétaire d'Etat américaine était à Londres la semaine dernière pour recevoir un prix lorsque son chauffeur a ignoré l'horodateur omettant ainsi de s'acquitter des 3,3 livres requises pour une heure de stationnement dans le très chic quartier de St James Square.

En conséquence, une amende de 80 livres (130 dollars) a été apposée sur le pare-brise de la Mercedes d'Hillary Clinton.

"L'ancienne ministre des Affaires étrangères est restée garée pendant presque 45 minutes sans ticket de stationnement", a justifié mercredi le conseiller municipal de Westminster, Daniel Astaire. "Je suis certain qu'elle comprendra que nous sommes obligés de traiter tout le monde de la même manière, quel que soit son statut", a ajouté l'élu local.

Le maire de Londres Boris Johnson s'est plaint par le passé que les diplomates américains refusent de s'acquitter des dix livres de péage urbain pour pénétrer dans le centre de Londres. La bonne nouvelle pour Hillary Clinton est que son amende sera divisée par deux si elle s'en affranchit dans les deux semaines.
