La police a immobilisé un homme ayant enfreint le périmètre de sécurité près du Monument commémoratif de guerre du Canada, jeudi matin, alors que le premier ministre Stephen Harper se recueillait à la mémoire du caporal Nathan Cirillo.
Harper a déposé une couronne de fleurs près du lieu où Cirillo a été tué par Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, avant qu'il se rende sur la colline du Parlement.
Quand le premier ministre est arrivé sur les lieux, les forces de l'ordre immobilisaient et menottaient l'homme en question.
«Il s'agit simplement d'un individu ayant tenté de se rendre sur une scène de crime, et c'est tout ce que nous avons pour l'instant», a indiqué un porte-parole de la police d'Ottawa, le sergent Marc Soucy.
De nombreux députés étaient sur les lieux pour rendre un dernier hommage au caporal décédé.
