DUBAI, Émirats arabes unis - Eugenie Bouchard n'est pas parvenue à se qualifier pour le tableau principal du tournoi de Dubaï, un tournoi de la WTA.

L'athlète de Westmount, qui occupe le 19e rang mondial, s'est inclinée 6-1, 6-4 face à l'Allemande Annika Beck, 50e joueuse mondiale.

Bouchard a notamment connu des problèmes au service, conservant un faible 47 pour cent de réussite sur sa première balle.

Beck a également récolté sept bris en 10 chances, tandis que la Québécoise a dû se contenter de trois bris en neuf occasions.

À ses deux premiers matchs, Bouchard avait vaincu la Russe Vera Dushevina, 129e mondiale, 5-7, 6-3 et 6-3, puis la Bulgare Tsvetana Pironkova, 52e au monde, 6-2 et 6-4.

Bouchard, 19 ans, participera la semaine prochaine à l'omnium du Mexique, autre compétition de la WTA présentée à Acapulco.
