MONTRÉAL - L'attaquant du Canadien de Montréal Jiri Sekac a été invité aux festivités du match des étoiles de la LNH parmi les recrues, en relève à Tanner Pearson, des Kings de Los Angeles, blessé.

Le Canadien a annoncé la nouvelle mardi.

En 34 matchs cette saison avec le Canadien, Sekac a récolté sept buts et huit aides. Il affiche un différentiel de plus-4. Âgé de 22 ans, Sekac s'est joint au Canadien en tant que joueur autonome, l'été dernier.

Il participera donc au concours d'habiletés, le 24 janvier à Columbus, mais pas à la rencontre du lendemain.

De son côté, Pearson est sur la touche pour une période indéterminée. Il s'est fracturé le péroné de la jambe gauche samedi dernier, dans un revers de 5-4 en fusillade des Kings face aux Jets de Winnipeg.
