Le nouveau long métrage du réalisateur québécois Denis Villeneuve, Arrival, sera présenté au Festival international du film de Toronto.
Les organisateurs de l'événement ont annoncé mardi les premiers titres des films de l'édition 2016 du festival, et celui de M. Villeneuve figure parmi la liste.
Arrival, dont la sortie est prévue le 11 novembre, met en vedette les acteurs américains Amy Adams et Jeremy Renner.
Par ailleurs, The Magnificent Seven, réalisé par Antoine Fuqua, sera projeté en première mondiale à l'ouverture du festival le 8 septembre. Les acteurs Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt et Ethan Hawke jouent notamment dans le film western.
Le film d'Oliver Stone, Snowden, racontant l'histoire du controversé Edward Snowden, fait également partie de la liste. Joseph Gordon-Levitt interprète le rôle de l'entrepreneur américain qui a dévoilé le programme de surveillance de l'Agence nationale de la sécurité américaine (NSA).
Le long métrage du créateur de mode Tom Ford sera aussi présenté au festival. Nocturnal Animals, mettant en vedette Jake Gyllenhaal, est le deuxième film de Tom Ford après A Single Man, sorti en 2009.
Le Festival international du film de Toronto se tiendra du 8 au 18 septembre 2016.
