Le candidat libéral à l'élection fédérale partielle dans la circonscription torontoise de Trinity-Spadina a eu un coup de pouce de la première ministre de l'Ontario, Kathleen Wynne, aujourd'hui.

La chef libérale provinciale s'est jointe à Adam Vaughan pour motiver les troupes et a parlé du bon bilan de l'ancien conseiller municipal de Toronto.

Il y a deux semaines, Kathleen Wynne, a remporté l'élection provinciale en donnant aux libéraux un gouvernement majoritaire.

Le NPD détient le siège depuis 2006

Du côté du Nouveau Parti démocratique, c'est le chef du parti fédéral, Thomas Mulcair qui est allé soutenir le candidat Joe Cressy.

Les néo-démocrates cherchent à conserver leur siège dans Trinity-Spadina, qui a été laissé vacant par Olivia Chow, désormais candidate à la mairie de Toronto.

Thomas Mulcair soutient que si les électeurs d'une circonscription connus pour élire des représentants de gauche à tous les paliers de gouvernement veulent être représenter par un parti progressiste, alors « c'est le NPD ».

Lundi, quatre élections fédérales partielles auront lieu, deux à Toronto et deux en Alberta.
