Les enquêteurs reviennent sur les lieux de la collision mortelle

OTTAWA - Les enquêteurs du Bureau de la sécurité des transports (BST) sont revenus sur les lieux de la collision mortelle entre un train de passagers et un autobus de la ville d'Ottawa.

Selon le BST, ces enquêteurs ont pour mandat de recueillir de nouvelles données, alors qu'ils tentent de déterminer les causes de l'accident survenu plus tôt ce mois-ci.

Au dire de l'organisme fédéral, trois autobus à impériale d'OC Transpo similaires à celui impliqué dans l'accident ont été transportés jusqu'au passage à niveau, et ce au même moment de la journée que la collision s'est produite, et dans des conditions semblables.

Les enquêteurs se penchent sur des facteurs qui auraient pu affecter la perception et la capacité de prise de décision du chauffeur dans les moments précédant l'accident.

Le BST évaluera la visibilité du train, les signaux d'avertissement visuels et sonores à l'approche du passage à niveau, ainsi que le point de vue à partir de la route, et les possibles impacts environnementaux sur la visibilité.

Six personnes ont été tuées, et plus de 30 blessées, lorsque l'autobus a percuté le train après avoir fracassé une barrière de sécurité le 18 septembre.
