Les travailleurs manifestent d'Istanbul à Paris (VIDÉO)

Des manifs sont aussi attendues au Québec.

Les travailleurs de la planète tiennent des manifestations afin de revendiquer des améliorations de leurs conditions de travail. En Turquie, les travailleurs dénoncent la concentration du pouvoir entre les mains du président alors que les Français manifestent à six jours du deuxième tour de l'élection présidentielle.

En Turquie, la police a dû faire usage de gaz lacrymogène pour disperser des manifestants qui souhaitaient atteindre la place Taksim, à Istanbul, en dépit de l'interdiction des autorités.

Les autorités turques ont interdit l’accès à la place Taksim, traditionnel lieu de rencontre des mouvements de contestation en Turquie. La police avait ainsi bloqué les accès à l’emblématique place publique. Quelque 200 manifestants de divers groupes de gauche ont ainsi dispersé par la police turque en tentant de s’y rendre, deux semaines après le référendum qui a renforcé les pouvoirs du président Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

La fête de travailleurs se déroule sous tension puisque le résultat du référendum est contesté par l’opposition. Les manifestants arboraient d’ailleurs des banderoles montrant des slogans comme « Longue vie au 1er mai, non au dictateur! ». Au moins un manifestant a été arrêté, selon l’AFP.

Division en France

En France, les travailleurs français manifestent en pleine campagne électorale en prévision du deuxième tour de la présidentielle. Contrairement à l’élection de 2002, où les travailleurs avaient fait front commun contre le Front national de Jean-Marie Le Pen, ils sont cette fois divisés.

Deux syndicats, CFDT et Unsa, ont appelé à voter pour le candidat centriste et proeuropéen, Emmanuel Macron, le 7 mai prochain. Ces syndicats demandent à leurs membres de « rejeter la vision réactionnaire et identitaire du Front national » qui prône des idées anti-immigration et anti-Europe.

Par ailleurs, trois autres syndicats plus à gauche – le CGT, Solidaires et FSU – tout en demandant à leurs membres de « faire barrage » à Marine Le Pen, se défendent de les inviter à appuyer M. Macron. Ils jugent l’ancien banquier trop libéral pour le milieu ouvrier.

Un autre syndicat, Force ouvrière, s’est quant à lui abstenu de toute consigne de vote.

Les quatre derniers syndicats défileront ensemble à Paris, unis sous le slogan pour en finir « avec les reculs sociaux qui font le terreau de l'extrême droite ».

Les syndicats pourraient être débordés par des franges plus militantes de leur propre organisation. Ces militants ont appelé leurs collègues à « battre les deux candidats ». Regroupés au sein d’un collectif baptisé « Front social », défileront avec des banderoles différentes où l’on pourra lire « Peste ou choléra : Front social, c’est dans la rue que ça se gagne ».

À Montréal, les militants radicaux de la Convergence des luttes anticapitalistes (CLAC) ont donné rendez-vous à leurs partisans à 18 h au carré Phillips, au centre-ville de Montréal. Le Comité intersyndical du Montréal métropolitain organise, quant à lui, sa manifestation sur le thème de la hausse du salaire minimum au parc Jean-Brillant, dans Côte-des-Neiges, à 19h.
