Rien ne va plus pour Fenerbahçe. Exclu de toute compétition européenne pendant deux ans pour une affaire de matches truqués, le club stambouliote vient en plus de perdre un record auquel son public tenait beaucoup : celui de la foule la plus bruyante de l'histoire du sport.

Cette distinction insolite, attestée par le Livre Guinness des records, vient en effet de lui être chipée par les partisans de l'équipe de football américain des Seattle Seahawks. Comme le rapporte le site Mashable, ils sont montés dimanche 15 septembre au niveau impressionnant de 131,9, puis 136,6 décibels, d'après les mesures établies par un juge du Guinness Book présent dans leur stade. Vous pouvez les voir en action (et surtout les entendre) dans la vidéo en haut de cet article.

À titre de comparaison, une sirène de camion de pompier, une tronçonneuse en marche ou un avion au décollage à 300 m de distance produisent un bruit compris entre 120 et 130 décibels, tandis que 140 décibels correspondent au bruit émis par une course de Formule 1. Établi en 2011, le record des partisans de Fenerbahçe s'élevait à 131,7 décibels.

Most people throw out their leftovers after a few days -- or at most a few weeks. But a museum in England is displaying a 113-year-old wedding cake that\'s being called the world\'s oldest. The Willis Museum in Basingstoke, Hampshire, says the delicately decorated Victorian cake was baked in 1898. The confection has browned over the years and suffered a crack after a World War II bomb blast, but it has survived for more than a century, first in a baker\'s window and then in storage, before being donated to the museum. He Pingping of China met Sultan Kosen of Turkey in January. He -- the world\'s smallest man -- was 2 feet, 5 inches. He died March 13.
